I bought this drill just under 2 years ago to supplement my much older, very reliable 12V Ryobi for when I need more UMPH.

I never did like this PC drill that much because it is very heavy and the batteries they supply have very low storage capacity. The charge would barely last 45 minutes of regular use.

This comes with a fancy computerized battery charger that can detect and charge several differnt voltage batteries. Well mine died a few months ago. I probably did not charge the batteries more than 25 to 30 times on that charger.

I called PC and the best they would do is sell me a charger at a discounted price of $65 including shipping. That works out to about $2 per charge.

I also have a friend who is an electrition and he tells me the PC cordless drills are the ones that are tossed after pretty short lives.

I recommned stongly against it - my only other experience with cordless drills is with my Ryobi. That is still going strong after nearly 10 years (with two new generic batteries that were actually better quality than the originals). I would recommend one of their higher end drills.

I have been working and playing with power tools almost all my life, I just turned 65. This Porter-Cable Cordless Drill/Driver has got to be the best one I've ever used. The weight and the way it fits in your hand is perfect. It's great the way Porter-Cable made a tool to respond to your commands so quickly and smoothly. The only drawback I could find is they didn't make a 15 minute charger like the guys who make that YELLOW drill.

Customer Buzz
The drill is ok. Not as tough as I had hoped since a drop to the floor from waist level broke a piece of plastic on it. Good buy for the money but wish it was built like a hitachi.

I had worn out a fabulous Porter-Cable 14.4v cordless drill. I had used and abused it, great batteries, great power. My family got me this 19.2v model as a replacement. It works well, lots of power, etc... but the battery life is very poor, a fraction of my previous tool. I wouldn't buy it again.

Customer Buzz
Just bought this drill a few weeks ago (dec. 2006) I wanted to find out the cost of a replacement battery (for futute reference) Porter cable doesn't "have any left" there are two in dallas and mabe a few in detroit. Yes, this battery has been discontinued but the drill hasn't. No, there isn't another battery you can use (three different sources). So, why buy a great drill that you'll have to throw away with your "drill master" in two years, because the battery is beat? Your choice. Why two stars and not one? Because it is a very nice drill. Oh yea, spoke with porter cable they don't know why they did this.. Mabe it was the move to Taiwan

Customer Buzz
This drill has excellent power. The battery life is outstanding. The weight is managable (only slightly heavier than my older 12v bosch). The clutch and electric brake have good feel. The drill is balanced well. Unlike my older drill the bit holders (2ea) work. The price on this unit is incredible (...). 19.2v is kind of unusual. However, Porter-Cable has a complete line of tools at this power, so I expect they should be around for a long time. My drill is still fairly new so the only unknown I have is how well the batteries will last. This is one of the most important considerations in buying cordless. This is the reason I chose not to buy the 18v Dewalt, or the 15.6v NiMH Panasonic. My old 12v Bosch Batteries lasted 6yrs, which given the amount of use I think that is pretty good. I went with the Porter-Cable for the price.

Milwaukee 6310-22 18-volt ni-cad 6-1/2-inch cordless circular saw

Best Price milwaukee 6310 22. Free Shipping. Buy Now!.

Product Description

18V, 6-1/2" Circular Saw, 2.4A-Hour Battery, Cuts More 2x4's Per Battery Charge Than Any Other Cordless Circular Saw, Easily Cuts All 2x Material At 45 Degree Bevel Angle, Electric Brake For Quick Blade Stop, 3200 RPM For Fast Cutting, Kit Includes Saw, 2 Batteries, Universal Charger & Case.

Customer Buzz
It works, it cuts well, but it runs the batery down FAST and it is best limtied to 1/2 inch ply or less. It is slow because it can not hit the RPM of a plug in saw. But for working far from the outlets it will do the trick

Customer Buzz
Nice saw with impressive power from the 18V batteries. Good ergonomics and handling with the following exception: Narrow blade opening in the table and the ample blade guard makes it a bit difficult to get a good view of the blade and your cut line while cutting. I thought a saw with the blade on the left would minimize this problem, yet with some adjustment from my usual cutting position, it still works pretty good.... its just in those situations when you don't have the 'ideal' position to make your cut that you really notice it. Charger recharges drained batteries fairly quickly, and as a bonus... the 18V batteries also fit my Milwaukee reciprocating sawzall.

Customer Buzz
After checking and trying several options including 3& 4 piece "package Deals" I decided I did not need the other items and this was the best saw for my purpose, it was also made in the USA. I am pleased with my decision.

Customer Buzz
You simply can't bog this guy down. I compared this to a Hitachi C6DC and although the Hitachi was slightly more comfortable, I couldn't get used to the blade on the right and the Milwaukee seemed to get through 2x8s effortlessly. The Hitachi could get the same job done, but it was worked harder than the Mil. Great tool.

Customer Buzz
The Milwakee 18v circular saw is a great saw. The 18 volts gives it enough power to cut through even very hard woods, and by the time the battery gets low, the second battery is already charged and ready to go.
I used this saw on a project with Mangeris wood, which is HARD. The saw had more than enough power to do the job without slowing or binding, and cuts were straight and true.
The best part about this saw, though, was that it just feels right in your hand. Balance is critical in an 18volt tool, and the Milwakee is perfect. I spent all day with it and didn't get overtired. I've used other circular saws, both corded and cordless, but this is by far my favourite.

Customer Buzz
I purchased this saw for ripping through plywood and cutting 2x4's when at a distance from electrical outlets. I had to push it through 2x4's because of the saws resistance. It's not as smooth as I expected. The battery life is very good and the saw build qaulity is excellent. The exterior casing is extremely tough, but if the saw will not get light jobs done correctly, whats the use of owning one. I'm going with the Blue brand. Smooth, powerful, precise, and durable, although the handle doesn't seem as tought as the Milwaukee.

Customer Buzz
Excellent, excellent cordless saw. I replaced a Dewalt 18v cordless with this saw. In my opinion, Milwaukee is the superior saw. This saw is every bit heavy duty; made in the U.S.A. The saw has terrific balance, much better than the Dewalt, and a comfortable soft grip handle. Dewalts 18v offers 3700rpm but don't be fooled-the battery pack will drain faster. The milwaukee saw has longer run time at 3200 rpm and 2.4amp hr battery packs (2 batteries in this kit vs. only 1 w/ Dewalts saw - at the same price!)and plenty of power. Milwaukee will soon offer 2.6 amp hr NiMH battery packs for even longer run time, however, I believe they will have to be purchased as an accessory. The saw is unbelievably powerful. It rips through 2X material w/ ease and cuts OSB beautifully. I was most impressed when it sliced through 1X oak. The case is nice but bulky. I have replaced it w/ a bucketboss long-boy bag which has room to spare for other tools. When you are trying to decide on a cordless tool, you are pretty much committed to the entire line of tools. Go w/ Milwaukee: Quality, durability, and a new line of 18 volt products that you can buy w/out battery packs/cases to add new tools to your collection.

Customer Buzz
I purchased this saw for use in a hardwood lumber yard. We use it to cut things like 2" thick bubinga (VERY hard wood) it cuts it like it's Pine. Great saw.

Customer Buzz
Top quality power tool. Looks great, easy to handle, light and has plenty of power to cut 2x4's, 4x4's, and thick plywood. Comes with a nice hard case too.
I was so impressed with this saw I went out and bought the Milwaukee 18 volt hammer drill, cordless sawzall and portable light.
If you're wondering if a cordless saw could have the power you need to take care of business, get this one - you won't be disappointed and you sure won't miss the cord!!

Customer Buzz
D.K ROUNDS CONST. THIS IS A GREAT SAW FOR THE REMODELER OR ELECTRICAL INSTALLER . I FOUND IT MUCH MORE HANDY FOR CUTTING OUTLET HOLES AND PANELING.
